Relax.

Indian IT was never about innovation leadership in the first place. It was built on something far more durable:

• Cost arbitrage
• Process execution
• Scale + reliability
• Doing the “unsexy” backend work nobody else wants

Look at the global AI race —
OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, AWS, Microsoft.

No Indian names.

And that’s exactly the point.

India Was Never Competing There

We didn’t win by inventing the future.
We won by operationalizing it for the world at scale.

That game doesn’t disappear with AI — it evolves.

• AI models still need deployment, tuning, monitoring
• Enterprises still need integration with legacy systems
• Someone still has to clean the data, fix the mess, maintain the pipes

And guess who specializes in messy, large-scale execution?

Yeah.

Margins Might Compress — But Demand Won’t Die

Yes, pricing pressure will come.
Yes, commoditization will increase.

But:

• New layers of “AI plumbing” will emerge
• Enterprises will outsource AI ops just like they outsourced IT ops
• The volume of work may actually increase, not decrease

Because automation creates more systems — not fewer.

The Real Edge: Jugaaḍ + Accountability

India’s real moat isn’t brilliance.
It’s getting things done under constraints.

• Patchwork solutions
• Cost-efficient scaling
• Owning outcomes others don’t want to touch

That’s not going away.

If anything, in an AI-heavy world full of half-broken implementations,
this skill becomes more valuable.

The Bottom Line

This isn’t a disruption story.

It’s a margin reset + capability shift story.

The winners won’t be the ones trying to become OpenAI.
They’ll be the ones who:

• Embed AI into services
• Move up slightly in the value chain
• Keep doing high-volume execution better than anyone else

Don’t panic.
